Buttons and Bows: (guest design spot for Gingersnap Scraps)

Happy Tuesday, Bloggers!  Here is the second project I created for my guest designer spot over at Ginger Snap Scraps.  Today's theme is Buttons and Bows.  Since the Fourth of July holiday is just around the corner, I decided to turn to the gorgeous papers in Authentique's Glory line for my card.  I inked all the edges with Distress Ink in vintage photo.  The buttons were made with an Epiphany Crafts shape studio tool and a solid-colored sheet of paper from the paper pad.  Love how that tool allows me to make buttons that perfectly match my project!  I added some red and white twine from the Twinery.  As an afterthought, I realized I should have grunged up the twine a little so the white wasn't so white.  Ahhh...next time!  I finished off the card with some yummy cream ribbon tied into a pretty bow.

These are the products used in my project that you can find in the Ginger Snap Scraps store:

Cori at Ginger Snap Scraps is always bringing in new product and always has awesome sales, so be sure to check out the store!  HINT:  There just may be a big customer appreciation sale coming SOON!  YAHOO!!!

Think in Pink Blog Hop

Happy Saturday, Bloggers!  Today is National Pink Day -- a day to bask in all the splendor that is PINK!  We are celebrating with all things pink for you today.  You should have arrived from Jessi's blog.  Jessi is hosting today's blog hop and has some awesome candy to give away.  If you want a chance to win, be sure to become a follower of each blog in the hop and leave a comment at each stop as well.

For my project, I created a card for a swap pal that lives in the UK.  We both belong to a Smash Book group.  If you're not familiar with Smash books, you should check them out!  They are just another form of scrapbooking, and they remind me very much of old-school scrapbooking!

Anyway, my swap pal loves bright colors, especially pink!  So, I made a pink card for her using this bright pink polka dot paper and these fun, colorful cardstock stickers from Doodlebug.  I added some pink and white twine and a stamped sentiment in the corner to resemble a postage stamp.  I added a touch of pink to the stamped sentiment as well as some Stickles.  I like how the sentiment says "sending you happy everything".  In our group, members like to post pictures of happy mail received that day.  I thought the sentiment was kinda fitting for this card because of the intended recipient.  Overall, I was going for more of a CAS (clean and simple) look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please hop on over to Paula's blog next to check out her pink project.  Have a good weekend!

Ginger Snap Scraps: Dairy Day Guest Design Spot

Hey, everyone!  It's Dairy Day today over at Gingersnap Scraps.  I'm guest designing two projects this month, and this is the first.  If you haven't shopped at Ginger Snap Scraps yet, drop what you're doing and head on over there for a 30% off all in-stock items sale this week!

I recently treated myself to a bunch of paper pads from Ginger Snap Scraps during a big sale.  I used one of the pads I bought for this project.  I used papers from the Echo Park This & That Graceful Charming 6 x 6 pad. Echo Park has always been a favorite of mine, and this collection does not disappoint. There are 24 sheets in this pad -- and, they are double-sided!  Love that!

The digi is from Meljen's Designs.  I colored it with Copics and added some sparkle with my favorite Stardust Stickles.  The sentiment was computer-generated.  Sometimes, I like to add it to the digi image before printing as I did in this case.  I finished off the card with some ribbon and bling from my stash.

I'm in Paper Pad Heaven !

(click for a better view of all these yummy paper pads)

Hello, Bloggers!  Hope you are all having a great week.  This month, I have two guest designer spots over at Ginger Snap Scraps.  GSS is an online retailer run by Cori, a stay-at-home Mom.  She carries the latest and greatest stuff, ships quickly, responds quickly to inquiries, and always has a sale going on.  GSS has become one of my favorite places to shop!

One of my absolute favorite papercrafting/scrapbooking supplies is PAPER!  Oh, how I love, love, LOVE paper!  I love to just ooh and aah over my favorite lines.  Since I make a fair amount of cards, I have turned to hoarding paper pads.  What I love about paper pads is not only the variety of papers you get, but mainly, the fact that the designs are scaled down to 6 x 6 size.  Basically, the design or pattern has been shrunk down from 12 x 12 to 6 x 6.  The scaled down pattern works so much better for cards.

Now, it is possible to use these paper pads for scrapbooking, too.  I haven't tried it myself, but I know that some scrapbookers do incorporate paper from their 6 x 6 pads on their layouts.  Sometimes, depending on what they are doing, they have to hide a seam somehow, but it sounds like it's not a big deal.

Well, just before Mother's Day, Cori at GSS had a sale on paper pads.  They were 40% off !!!  Boy, was I ecstatic!  As a Mother's Day gift, my honey told me to treat myself to some goodies.  At 40% off, I just had to snap up a bunch of these paper pads to add to my growing collection.

I got a bunch from my new favorite line :  Simple Stories.  Oh, my gosh!  I love every single paper pad of theirs!  I wasn't able to get any with this order, but My Mind's Eye is in my top two faves followed by Echo Park, Authentique, and Crate Paper.  I like to try a variety of products, tools, and lines when it comes to this hobby, and I am definitely glad I discovered Simple Stories!

Well, I am sorry I have no project to share with you today.  I hope you all don't mind, but I decided to start doing some posts on my favorite supplies.  What I love about blog surfing is the fact that I discover so many new companies and supplies for our craft by reading blogs.  I thought it would be nice to return the favor!

Time for me to get ready for bed.  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to visit Ginger Snap Scraps.  Cori is taking pre-orders for The Greeting Farm Stamps at THIRTY PERCENT OFF!!!  She's placing an order on Sunday, so order now !  Here is the GSS Facebook page if you want to connect there also:

Crafty Sentiments Digi

Today, I'm sharing a card made with a digi by a company I recently discovered:  Crafty Sentiments.  I used this digi of a sweet girl surrounded by a bunch of pretty flowers.  It was fun using a variety of different colors for all the flowers.  I decided to go with a purple and yellow color scheme for the patterned paper and cardstock.  I added some pretty ribbon, a sentiment by Hero Arts, and some bling.  Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out all the cute digi's over at Crafty Sentiments!

Lollipop Crafts Sponsor Spotlight: Sparkle Creations

Hey, Bloggers!  It's Wednesday and also the first day of summer break for my oldest daughter.  I'm looking forward to spending more time with her while she's on break.  Tuesday night, we painted our toenails and watched a movie while having kettle corn and M & M's.  I really do enjoy our girl time together!

Well, on to my project!  This week's sponsor spotlight over at Lollipop Crafts is on Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  I used Swimming Lucy for my card.  Doesn't she look so nice and relaxed floating along?  Makes me want to go to the beach!  LOL

I turned to my trusty Copics to ink her up.  I added pink Stickles to the flower in her hair and orange Stickles to the butterfly.  I used Glossy Accents on her bikini top.

Then, I turned to my stash to put the card together.  Now, I know a lot of you are probably like me.  I tend to be more of a scrapbook supply collector than anything else!  *sigh*  Well, no more of that !  I'm determined to dust off some of my tools and supplies and USE them!

So, I turned to my Nestabilities Labels One set to cut out this image.  I can't even remember the last time I used that set!  For the patterned paper, I found some bright, fun paper in my stash.  Then, I took out one of my Tim Holtz rosette dies.  I actually own both rosette dies.  One die has one rosette and the other die has two, smaller rosettes.  I used the die with the two small rosettes.  I think the last time I used this die was almost a year ago.  I layered one rosette on the other and then placed them in the upper left corner of the card to resemble the sun.

I initially tried to stamp the sentiment using a Hero Arts stamp, but I didn't like how it looked.  So, I typed it out on the computer and printed it out.  I then matted it and raised it on pop dots to help balance out the card a bit.

I'm really happy that I used my Tim Holtz die, Nesties, and this paper from my stash!  Not only am I trying to force myself to use my stuff, but it's also a good way to get me to do different things with my cards.

Well, hope you all have a fun day today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Aloha!

DAY TWO of the Create a Critter Blog Hop (PANDA)

Hello, everyone!  Today is Day TWO of the Create A Critter Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from CallyAnn's blog.  If you're just joining the hop and want to start at the beginning, please hop on over to Ashley's blog.  This is a two-day hop featuring projects using the Cricut Create A Critter cartridge.  If you missed Day One's posts, be sure to check them out. There are prizes to be won, and you can get all of that info on Ashley's blog.

For today's project, I turned to the panda image on the CAC cart.  Doesn't this panda look so huggable?  I used patterned papers from Bo Bunny's Serenity 6 x 6 paper pad.  The sentiment was computer-generated using an Asian font called Seven Monkey Fury.  What a fun name for a font, huh?  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out Ashley's blog for all the blog candy info.  Now, please hop on over to Sheila's blog to check out her fun CAC creation.  Thanks for hopping with us this weekend!
