Based on a Book Blog Hop: Alice in Wonderland Digital Layout

Happy Saturday, Bloggers!  I hope you all had a great week.  Can you believe half the month of January has gone by already?  Sheesh!  I need to get my butt in gear and dedicate more time to my 2012 goals!  One of my goals is to create at least two items per week that I've "pinned" on Pinterest, whether it's a craft item or a dish.  I'll be blogging about my Pinterest adventures soon!

Now, on to my project.  Today, I'm participating in the "Based on a Book" blog hop.  You should have just come from Jamie's blog.   Each blogger in today's hop is sharing a project she created that was inspired by a book.

There is blog candy!  To be eligible, you must leave a comment on all of the blogs in the hop.  Then, at the final stop, be sure to include the title of a book you've been wanting to read.  If you are the winner, you will get a copy of that book!

If you are just joining the hop and need to go to the beginning, please start at Ashley's blog.

The project I'm sharing today is a digital layout  inspired by "Alice in Wonderland".  It features my teenager who dressed up as Alice for Halloween in 2010.  I used a kit from scrapbookgraphics.com called "Wonderland".   I just love all of the papers and elements in this kit.  Everything is just so bright and whimsical -- just as I think it should be with this story!  I started with the background paper that was red with the black and white checks.  Then, I added every single element that you see in the layout.  There are so many different elements to choose from in this kit!  I can't wait to create more pages with it.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to check out Shannon's creation next !  Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way.  Don't forget to include the title of a book you want to read at the last stop (Tanya's blog)!

Twilight Blog Hop: Day One

Welcome to the Twilight Blog Hop. You should have just come from Jamie's blog. If you are just visiting me and want to start from the beginning of this hop, please hop on over to Carla's blog. We are celebrating all things Twilight and the opening of the Twilight Saga "Breaking Dawn part 1" in theaters. Make sure you check out all the Twilight related projects on both days. And what would a Blog Hop be without a little Blog Candy right? Our sponsor for this hop is Karber Digital Images and they have generously offered 2 of their awesome Digital Images to a random commenter. To be eligible to win you must comment on everyone’s blogs on both days. We want to say a huge thank you to Berenice Rendon and Karber Images. The complete list of participating blogs is at the bottom of this post.

For day one's project, I've created a digi layout using My Memories Suite scrapbooking software.  I'm not affiliated with the company at all, so I am completely unbiased when I say, "I LOVE THIS SOFTWARE!!!"  If you love digi scrapbooking and "Twilight", you MUST get this awesome Twilight kit available from My Memories.  When I saw that they had it, I knew I had to use it for this blog hop!

The layout features a photo taken at a Twilight expo held here a few years ago.  From the layout, it's pretty obvious that I'm on TEAM JACOB! WOO-HOO!!!  They had this life-sized cardboard image of him at one of the booths, and I just HAD to take a picture with it!  LOL!  Now, if you're wondering why he has a lei on, it's because we're in Hawaii.  I love how the color of the lei matches my top in the picture -- makes me feel like we sorta "match".  LOL!  Okay, I'm being silly, but a girl is allowed to get silly over a handsome character isn't she?  =)

Well, please be sure to come by tomorrow.  I'm hoping to finish up a mini album that I'm creating for my teenager.  Be sure to visit Joy's blog next !  Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Stamping Treats First Ever New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to Sweet Stamping Treats First Ever New Release Blog Hop! We are so happy you are here. If you are coming from  Gina's blog,  you’re on the right track. If you just joined us, you can go back to the beginning at sweetstampingtreats.blogspot.com/ and hop along with us from the very start.

This hop is all about the new releases at Sweet Stamping Treats. The DT and some fun friends have put together some awesome projects using SST's new digi stamps. And there are prizes! One lucky winner who comments on the SST Blog will get to choose 3 stamps from the new release. Plus there are 3 more chances to win 1 stamp of your choice from the new releases hidden in some of the blogs on the hop! All you have to do is hop along and leave comments. You must be a follower of SST and the blog where the stamp is hidden to win a stamp, so make sure you comment!

Here is a card I made with the chicken digital stamp from Sweet Stamping Treats. Being that I'm a city girl, I was a little concerned as to how I would use this stamp. But, then I remembered that I had this cute farm animal patterned paper in my stash along with the checked paper and adorable farm animal ribbon. From there, it was pretty easy to put this card together. I used Copics to color in the image. I'm pretty much a newbie to Copics, but I think it turned out okay! I think this stamp can be paired up with a friendship sentiment (think "HEY CHICK" for example). You could also use it as a blank notecard as I chose to do. Thanks for looking and hope you have fun hopping along!

Your next stop is Kari at http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/.

Happy Sunday! It's been a relaxing day so far. My boyfriend mowed the yard while Madison and I supervised (LOL). Afterwards, we had breakfast and then watched "The Fighter" on Netflix. It was an interesting movie -- not one of my faves, but entertaining enough, I guess.

Last night, we went to a birthday party for another set of twins. I'm happy to say that we have no more birthday parties to attend until the one we're throwing for Madison's first birthday. It's been a whirlwind of events, and we need a break! Well, no more parties, but we do have to buy a gift this afternoon for my older daughter's friend. Guess I will have to fit in a trip to the craft store at the same time ... tee hee.

Anyway, here is one of the cards I made for the twins yesterday. I did actually make two of these. I used some glittery paper from a stack I've had for a while. The image is Cotton Candy Leah from Whimsie Doodles. It was my first time doing digital coloring, and I have to say that I wasn't real pleased with the results. The shade of pink that printed was very different from the pink on the screen! I know my pink ink is running low, so I'm not sure if the result was because of that or something else. It was late at night, so I didn't want to fiddle with it anymore. I definitely like the look of hand coloring over digital coloring, but the nice thing is that you can easily change colors when going the digital route.

I added some pink bling and a stamped sentiment from Hero Arts. I also stamped "Happy Birthday" on the inside of the card. I really wanted to add some ribbon and had the perfect ribbon to use. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough to use on both cards so I had to do without. *sad face*

Well, I'm going to squeeze in a little power nap before hitting the road. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. ALOHA!
