Summertime! What better time than to kick back with a cool drink of lemonade? Pure and sweet, sour and refreshing all at the same time -- it's a summer staple and something we're celebrating with this Lemonade Blog Hop.
Our hostess for the Lemonade Blog Hop is Erica of Erica's Craft Room (www.mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com). You may have come across this Hop by visiting my blog, or you could have come here from Maria's blog. If you missed any of the stops and want to start at the beginning, please be sure to go to Erica's blog.
For my project, I created a mini hand sanitizer holder. I've made them before for birthday party favors and for Halloween. They turn out really cute! I decided to make one using the Lemon Sunshine Slush antibacterial gel from Bath & Body Works.
I wanted to use pink and yellow for my project, so I took some pink cardstock and pretty pink polka dot paper and cut the holder using an SVG file I made myself. The lemon was cut from the Cricut Simply Charmed cartridge. I added googly eyes for a fun effect and cut the cheeks out with a hole punch since my Cricut cuts crooked circles! :( I cut two layers of the lemon and inked the edges. I raised the top lemon layer with pop dots to create dimension.
The yellow checked and ruffled ribbon was purchased from a private seller in a buy/sell group. I thought it would be perfect to add some more color and frill to this! The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with the SU! word window punch. I went with "stay sweet" for a playful touch since lemons certainly aren't sweet! LOL! Okay, maybe it's my weird sense of humor, but I thought it was a cute idea! LOL
I found this Lemon Sunshine Slush mini hand gel on my last visit to Bath & Bodyworks. Doesn't it sound yummy and refreshing? Of course, it's not made for human consumption, but it sure does sound delish!
Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit! Your next stop on the Lemonade Blog Hop is: Cicily's blog.
For a lot of very "a-peel-ing" projects, one sure to give your creative juices a squeeze, be sure to visit all of the stops, which are:

What a fun idea! I never thought to dress up those hand sanitizer bottles. I definitely think it's a great idea to keep them handy, so who wouldn't LOVE one as a little present/goodie! I will totally be making some for stocking stuffers this Christmas :) The lemon is adorable with its googly eyes. I also never thought to use a hole punch to make the circles for cheeks! Lol. I always take the long route and use my cricut :( Anywho, thank you so very much for sharing your project and the inspiration!

Yowzers, I LOVE this project, Dena!! And yes, that hand sanitizer does sound yummy enough to eat! LOL. The nice thing about a lemon-based sanitizer is that it works great in the kitchen for cooks who use a lot of garlic and onions, as the lemon cuts right through the scent (some may say "odor") of the garlic/onions. In fact, at several cooking schools, they say to rub your hands with half of a lemon after cooking.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice hopping with you, my Aloha friend!
