Introducing Digi Galore Challenges!

*** If you're looking for the It's A Wildlife Blog hop, please CLICK HERE.

Hey, everyone!  There is a new challenge blog in blog world called Digi Galore Challenges, and GUESS who is on the Design Team!  Yup!  ME!!!

I love working with digital stamps.  Not only do they save on space, but they are also cheaper than rubber stamps; and, you can resize them to fit your project perfectly!

Digi Galore Challenges already has a great lineup of sponsors scheduled over the next several months.  Challenges will be held fortnightly (every two weeks) with prizes offered by our sponsors.  The design team has been split into two.  Team A (which I am on) will create projects for the first challenge of the month.  Team B will create projects for the second challenge of the month.

For our first challenge, we are going with a Back To School theme, and all the team members are playing.  We could choose any digi we wanted for our kick-off challenge.  I chose Back To School Girl from The Octopode Factory.  I love that she is slightly creepy rather than cutesie.  She reminds me of Wednesday from The Addams Family!

I inked her up with Copics and then fussycut her.  I had the perfect paper to go with this theme: Basic Grey's Oxford Line.  I grunged up the paper with some black ink.  Then, I used an oval Nestie to cut out a mat for the schoolgirl image.  I noticed that there was a splotchy red patch of color in the floral patterned paper, so I cut out the oval to where the red patch of color would be at one end.  I thought the little splash of red kinda added to the creepy feel.  Also, it matched her dress!  The sentiment came with the digi, and I also inked that up before adding it to the card.

Now, we don't have a sponsor for this first challenge, but I do hope you'll take a peek at our challenge blog. We also have a Facebook Group.  If you'd like to join us on FB, please CLICK HERE.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Hello, everyone!  Welcome to the It's A Wildlife Blog Hop hosted by Gill.  If you are just joining me from Katharine's blog, you are right where you are supposed to be!  If you are just joining the hop and wish to start from the beginning, please hop on over to Gill's blog.

Our sponsor for this hop is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

The winner will receive a digi image collaboration package consisting of one digi from every artist at the Stitchy Bear shop.  You'll want to check out all the details on Gill's blog if you want to be eligible for the blog hop prize!

For my blog hop project, I decided to go with a monkey theme.  When I think of wildlife, I picture a jungle setting with cute monkeys playfully jumping from tree to tree.  I turned to this cute monkey digital stamp from Kitty Bee Designs.  I love how easy it is to color this digi!  I had this adorable monkey paper from Reminisce in my stash.  I added some twine and letter stickers for the sentiment.

Please hop on over to Jacki's blog next !  Below is the complete blog hop lineup in case you get lost along the way.

Lollipop Crafts: Back To School Challenge

This week at Lollipop Crafts, we're challenging you to make a project with a Back To School theme.  I recently used The Greeting Farm's Cheeky Geeky stamp on another project.  I am really digging this stamp and thought it would be perfect for this week's challenge.

So, I inked her up again and decided to use her on a mini altered composition book.  I just love this paper from Basic Grey's Oxford line.  I added some fun washi tape and some alphabet and number stickers from Jenni Bowlin to finish off the cover.  I love how this turned out!  So easy and so cute!

I Miss Your Face

This week, over at Lollipop Crafts, the challenge is Anything Goes!  I just got my Unity stamp order a few days ago and couldn't wait to use it.  One of the items I ordered was the kit of the month from May of this year.  It's the Love In An Instant set.  OMG!  I just love so many of the stamps in this set and was so excited when it went on sale recently.  I just had to get it at that great price!

The first stamp from this set to get inked up was the Polaroid stamp.  It comes with two pretty little hearts in the corner.  The set includes the sentiment "I Miss Your Face" which I think is just too cute!  I stamped it on the Polaroid and then turned to my stamp collection to find a suitable image.

I came upon Akemi from my Sister Stamps LLC collection.  I thought this image would work well with the sentiment, so I inked her up and colored her with Copics.  I have to say that I'm not too happy with the coloring.  *sad face*  I'm a little out of practice and need to get back into studying coloring techniques.  Yikes!

I used paper from Echo Park's Yours Truly line and added roses and pearl flourishes.  I also inked the edges of the paper with pink ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you all have a Happy Monday!

Spotlight on La-La Land Crafts

This week, over at Lollipop Crafts, the sponsor spotlight is on La-La Land Crafts.  I had the opportunity to work with Watercan Marci.  Isn't she adorable?  For my project, I turned to Basic Grey's What's Up line.  I chose some pretty floral paper as my base.  I then paper pieced her dress and cap and inked her up with Copic pens.  I added Glossy Accents to her galoshes to make them nice and shiny and added some yellow Stickles to her flower.

The sentiment "Bee Happy!" is a bonus that comes with this stamp along with a bee.  I stamped three images of the bee and fussy cut them.  They were also colored with Copics and Stickled (wings).  I attached them to the card with pop dots to add some dimension.  This stamp set also includes one other sentiment that says, "Hi, Friend".  I love images that come with sentiments!

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to La-La Land Crafts, head on over to Lollipop Crafts and enter this week's Fun In The Sun challenge!  We also have a special surprise. Irina of La-La Land Crafts also created a project.  It's an awesome shadow box with a summer theme!  So, head on over there to check it out and to enter our challenge!  Aloha!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge: Monochromatic / Cheeky Geeky

It's a new week, bloggers!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  Today's challenge over at Lollipop Crafts is MONOCHROMATIC.  I rarely ever work with monochromatic themes because I like using lots of color, so this was definitely a challenge for me.

A monochromatic color scheme is where you use one color -- but different shades of it.  Often, you will see a neutral color added such as black or white.

I used the Cheeky Geeky stamp from The Greeting Farm (my new fave stamp of theirs) and colored it with Copics.  I paper pieced her headband with some brown polka dot paper to match the ribbon on my card.  A girl's got to have some bling, so I added rhinestone bling to her glasses and also went over her rims with a Stardust pen (love that pen!).  I thought about fussy cutting her, but I realized I really needed the white to help break up all that brown and balance it out a little bit.

The typewriter and sentiment are from a Hero Arts set which I inked up with TH Vintage Photo distress ink and stamped onto cardstock and then fussy cut.  The DP is from the Simple Stories Documented paper pad.  I love how the typewriter keys go so well with the typewriter stamp!  Originally, I intended to do a sexy schoolgirl  but she ended up being more like a sexy secretary.  Fine with me!  LOL!  This is really a fun stamp to work with!

Well, that's it for now.  Please be sure to check out challenge over at Lollipop Crafts.  Have a great week!

At The Movies Blog Hop Aug. 4th

*** If you are looking for the Lollipop Crafts Blogavery post, please CLICK HERE.

We're celebrating movies today with a fun blog hop hosted by Gill. You should have arrived here from Liz' blog.  If you are just joining us and wish to start from the beginning, please start HERE.

Today, we are sharing projects inspired by movies.  One of my teenager's favorite movies of all time is "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

She just LOVES anything to do with Jack Skellington whether it's clothing, bags, etc ... She even has a full-sized Jack Skellington in her bedroom!  She really digs Tim Burton's style and must see every single one of his movies.  I knew right away that I would have to make a card tied in to this movie for this hop.

My card features a digi image of the Pumpkin King himself - Jack Skellington!  You can find the digi at Simply B Stamps.  I used Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium paper and some ribbon and stickers from my stash.  The digi was inked with Copics.

Thanks for coming by.  Please hop on over to Katherine's blog next to check out her lovely creation.  If you get lost along the way, please refer to the blog hop lineup below.  Have a great day!
